Can't Buy Me Love

Seriously- This is so awful. That is a basketball in our grass and as you can tell we haven't cut our grass in some time.
We have a large back yard. It has grass, a lot of grass, and when we were buying this house we loved the idea of having a large back yard with tons of grass. The only thing is we didn't think about all the other issues with having a lot of grass. Like watering it(you should see our water bill), and the other issue is having to mow it. Bret doesn't mind it but he just doesn't have the time.
So we have our wonderful neighbor Christian come and cut it every week or 2. He uses his dads lawn mower and it rocks. I told him that all he needed was a COWBOY HAT. Then I laughed and he just looked at me. I asked him if he had ever heard of the movie "Can't buy me love",and he said he had never heard of it. WHAT? How old am I? Don't answer that. So I told him all about it, and I think he thinks I am a total freak. But I have known him since he was about 7 and so he knows that I am a good freak.
So I told him that it would be in his best interest to buy a cowboy hat for all the teenage girls. He just got this big embarrassing grin. Then I thought to myself 'like any of those girls would even get it'.
Anyways this is the finishing result and you can actually walk through it and not get lost. Thanks Cowboy Christian

S.O.S-All aboard

ALL ABOARD THE KING'S BOAT
Yes you heard me. The King's got a boat. Now when I say 'got a boat' I mean someone gave us their old boat. I know that sounds so weird, but there you have it. Someone gave us a boat. So Bret and a good friend of ours took it apart and then put it back together. HE had his mom reupholster the cushions and it looks great.

Everyone got a life jacket and thought they were so cool. We had to tear it from the twins.
This was our first time out as a family.
We try to go once a week if we can.
Sam and Emma really enjoy tubing.
This is Sam, Corbin, and Bret taking a swim in the lake.
It is so funny cause I grew up with a boat, but never thought I would be the mom of a boat. It is truly fun,and every time I get on it I feel like a kid again. Bret did such amazing work on. When he brought it home I thought 'Hear we go again'. Another project-who has the time. Well Bret proved me wrong and really made this boat GREAT FUN. He and his friend worked really hard and I think it is amazing. I feel very grateful to have this boat(even though it might be older than me) cause it has made me feel young and relaxed when we go to the lake. Also it gives us as a family a good activity to do together. Thanks Aaron and Bret for working so hard and making this such a wonderful treat for our family.

Sam's BIG Day

When Sam was like 5 she had asked to have her ears pierced. I of course said"NO" because at that point I felt she was to young and I had just found out I was expecting twins soon. So then she said "WHEN?" So in a way to get her off my back I answered really fast and with out thinking, hoping she wouldn't hold me to my word,....I said "8". Well here we are 8 and she remembered and has been asking me daily to go get them pierced. So we finally made it down there and she was soooooo excited.
When they got the two piercing guns out she got a little worried, but Bret kept teasing her and telling jokes to keep her mind busy. Guess what.... she survived. She can't stop smiling, and everyone we see she leans her ears really close to them in hopes they notice. Sometimes I have to give a hint to that person. But Sam just loves them and is being really responsible with them. That was the main reason I didn't want her to get them so early. I wanted them to be able to take care of them, and Sam has shown me that she can. YAY Sam.

Please don't judge me.

Please don't judge me

So Audrey has been climbing out of her crib lately. Which I am sure you all have had your kids do that. This is not a first here. There does come a time when they learn to climb out and you then put them in their big beds. This is not that time. Audrey has been the "adventurous" one to say it nicely out of all my kids. Well this time she has gone a little to far. She decided at 4:30 A.M. to wake up and cruise the house. So she first started by pulling all the books off the book shelf. Then she found some markers and colored some things(none of them where paper). Then she found a pair of her sisters scissors and lucky for us nothing is cut up(at least nothing we have found yet). Then she climbed into her twin Mallory's bed and started to jump up and down on her while she was asleep. Mallory started to cry so I went to check on her and that is when I found Audrey in her bed and all of the other things she decided to do.

Well at first I was upset, and then I got really worried and scared. I thought how unsafe that is. She could of done something really bad or even gotten hurt or worse. The thought made me sick to my stomach. Then I remember a friend of mine telling me about these "crib tents" that you can get to put over there crib so they can't get out. So I went and bought one that day and put it in her bed. Needless to say she hates it, but it does make me sleep and feel a lot better. So I am asking you to please not judge me. It's for her own safety.:)

Family Vacation

Oceanside,California

That is where we have been hiding for the last little bit. Every year my entire family go to California for a vacation and some cousin time.I took so many pictures and had so much fun. However Bret couldn't go due to school and work. So that left me with 5 kids ages 2,2,4,6,8. It was totally exhausting and crazy, but all in all we had a great time. I brought along with me my babysitter Carly who is like a 2nd mother to the twins. So having her was very helpful.

Where is Corbin........Oh he is the one getting buried in the sand by his Uncle Spencer with the PINK floaties. My mom got them for him so we could pick him out of all the other kids. And yes it worked.

So I took the 3 older kids to Legoland for the day. We had so much fun. My mom, dad, and sister-in-law Jenny watched the twins for me(Thanks:). We rode on all the rides and Corbin road on his first roller coaster. I have never laughed so hard.

It's a good thing Corbin doesn't have his license yet. He got in a little fender bender.

So I am not usually one of those who lets the kids get there faces painted, cause I find it to be a little to messy. However I decided I needed to let them have as much fun as possible and get whatever they wanted. Sam and Emma got the swan's,Corbin got spider-man(just in case you couldn't tell), and my niece Annelise got a pink cat. Wouldn't ya know that Corbin started crying about 45 minutes after we got his painted and so his started to smear. Of course I thought it was so funny so I had to take a picture

One night all the ADULTS got to go out to dinner. We went to a mexican restaurant called "El Indigo" that was in San Diego. My brother Spencer found it by watching the Food Network Channel(yes Spencer watches it,but he likes to find all the good places to eat). I say YAY Spencer.

THE AMAZING SINGLETON RACE 2008

So let me explain what this is. My mom about 3 years ago had us all go on an amazing singleton race in California. It is were your own family pile into your car and you get a clue. You then all race to get to that place so that you can get the next clue. Anyways 3 years ago Jeff and Sara won(but if you asked Spencer and Jenny they really won it). So this year Jeff and Sara hosted the 2nd Amazing Singleton Race. So we went all over getting clues(or lost if you were in my car). It was so fun. We ate at a bakery, got a root beer float, saw some historical site, and ended in La Jolla California for the night. Where later on that evening we all got together for dinner at Hard Rock Cafe and Jeff and Sara gave out the awards. So here they are: Spencer and Jenny got 1st, My parents, Quinnelly and Zane(Q and Zane road with them since there parents were in charge) got 2nd, my sister Lisa and Doug got 3rd, and yep you guessed it.... Me and the kids got last(4th). But we still had fun. I found it really hard to have 5 kids in a car while trying find the next clue, then reading a map, then calling to tell them you are lost, then reading the map again, then getting on the wrong freeway, then reading the map, then getting all the kids under control, then reading a map again. Wow it was hard, but we did survive and we are determined to get better.

I really need to thank all my family for helping me with my kids. I truly couldn't have done it with out them. My brothers and there wives took the kids boogie boarding(since I have a fear of sharks),my mom and dad had sleep overs at there condo, Carly helped supervise with the swimming and not letting anyone drown. I love my family and I am very thankful to have them in my life. Thanks again. I also want to say how much we missed my brother Robert,Amy,Courtney,Tate, and Danica this year. Oh yeah and we totally missed my husband Bret.Maybe if they came I wouldn't of been in last place. Yay right.
