I love my calling

I love my calling. I am the Activities Chairman and so we had our "Breakfast with Santa". Besides the fact that me and my mom had to cook 800 sausage links the day before(thanks mom),it was so much fun and I think we had about 370 people there. Most of them we small children(about170kids). I had alot of help from my ward cause I only have 2 people on my commity(they were so amazing), but the high priest & elders jumped in and were a great help. The set up tables, took down tables, cooked the pancakes, poured juice, did all the dishes, and so on... We had a great Santa who was so funny. I had alot of fun, but at the same time I am very releived it is over. NOW ONTO CHRISTMAS!
This was our Santa and after he had just visited with over 170 kids he did the "happy dance". Hope you enjoy

Our FHE Christmas Party

So my good friend just down the street has a Christmas party on the 1st Monday of December. It is so fun and it really brings in the Holiday. There is over 150 people there and we all eat, listen to some songs, have a lesson, and then the best, real looking Santa I have ever seen comes and does magic tricks for the kids. Then the kids one by one go up and tell Santa what they want for Christmas and he gives them a candy cane and we all take pictures. It is a great tradition and I love it and want to thank my friend Heather & Deb for pulling this all together. We loved it.
Well at least some of us like it. Mallory wasn't liking the Santa thing. But she did however like the candy cane. Thanks Carly for trying to get her to chill out.
Audrey was like'What in the world are you guys doing this for-I just want my candy cane'.
Corbin just kept telling Santa he wanted to play soccer.
Emma's list was really long and so funny.

Now Samantha's list was even longer, and in details. Yikes. I tried to lean in as close as I could.

Breast Cancer Walk

Breast Cancer Walk.....
As many of you know, my wonderful and amazing mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago. So every year me and my sister-in-laws along with Kenon(mother-in-law) do the American Cancer Society "breast cancer walk". This was our 2nd year to do the 3 mile walk and it is something that I look forward to and one of my favorite traditions. This year was really special because of the fact of me donating 13 inches of my hair and then seeing all the women that are going through chemo and how they are either bald or have a wig on or have there new hair coming in. It also was a real good feeling knowing that my mother-in-law beat the odds and is a true survivor and lives her life in a Christ like way. Showing us how important life and family are. Thank you Kenon for always being an amazing example. We love you.
In the picture it is Karen,Lisa,Kenon,Me, & Denice.

Another tradition..............

Another fun tradition we do is go out for breakfast/lunch(Lisa knows what I am talking about-Rueben) at "Crackers". One of my favorite places in the world. We have such a fun relaxing time with the the girls.

I just don't have time right now, but wanted to post this picture of me and my man Corbin. We got to go to a pumpkin patch for a field trip and we had so much fun. I love field trips cause I get to meet the kids that my kids are always talking about. Corbin and I had a great time together and was excited cause he got to show me all his friends.

What a FUN Halloween!

Corbin was Super-Man, Sam was a Jeanie, Emma was a Ballroom Princess, and the twins were Cows. All the kids looked so cute, and really had a good time.

Do the Halloween parties ever end?

I don't know about you guys, but it seems that by the time I go to all my kids "fall festivals"(aka Halloween parties) for there class rooms. Then to the trunk-or-treat party. Then to grandma's for her Halloween party. Then many trips to the store to buy the finishing touch on all of the kids costumes. Then back to the store to buy more candy for the kids school parties. Then to realize that you are in charge of 3 dozen cookies for one class, a large bag of popcorn for the other class, and a bag of small toys to the other class. It just is exhausting. Then it comes down to the actual day of Halloween and you see how excited they all get and hear all there giggles, and stories of how much candy they each got. Then the trading of candy. Not to mention the best part of it all-sneaking through there bags to pick out your favorite candy for that night time snack. You then realize that it is all worth it!

Grand Canyon here we come

They survived the GRAND CANYON

YES- That is right. These crazy men decided to hike the Grand Canyon. It was (from left to right) my brother Spencer,my other brother Jeff, Bret, and my other brother Robert. They wanted to do this together and my brother-in-law Doug wasn't able to with them cause he was in Europe or some far away place, but he was missed. They left on my brother Jeff's 35th birthday October 25th, and hiked down on the 26th. Then they stay at the bottom one night and the next day they hiked back out. They got home last night at 6p.m., and let's just say Bret is walking like an old man. He is so sore. I am so proud of these guys. Last year when they started to plan it I was like "yeah right-like this is going to happen." But they proved me wrong and for the last year worked really hard. I hope they don't mind me saying, but Spencer lost like 30 lbs. and works out all the time. Robert lost 20 lbs. and works out all the time. Jeff didn't lose any weight(thank heavens-he is so skinny), but he bikes a lot. Then Bret lost 15 lbs, and works out everyday. Doug who was suppose to go lost the most he lost I think 80 lbs., and we are very proud of him for that. We wish he could have done this.

My dad was suppose to go also, but had bronchitis just before and couldn't go. So instead my Dad and Mom drove up the boys and stayed at a hotel and did some site seeing and shopping. Then they drove them back.Good thing they did cause they were all so sore that I don't think anyone could have pushed the accelerator or brake. Anyways we are all very proud of them and love our Manly Men.

Happy Birthday #1 Man!

Happy Birthday Bret!
On October 17th my man turned 31. However ours lives have been really busy so this is the first time I could post the big event. Bret doesn't really care to much for cakes, and his favorite dessert ever is "milk chocolate" chip cookies, and it has to be "milk chocolate" chips. So I made him a big "milk chocolate" chip cookie along with some normal size cookies. He loved it and so did the kids as you can tell. I just want to say how wonderful I think Bret is and how thankful I am to have him in my life. He sacrifices so much for me and the kids, and is a great example to me. I hope you all feel the same way I do, cause sometimes he can get miss read, and when it comes down to it-he is an amazing man if you truly know him and his huge heart. Love ya Bret, and Thank You.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!
I just want to say "Happy Birthday" to my dad. On Saturday October 13th it was my dads birthday, so me and my sister took my dad out for lunch at his favorite mexican restaurant "manuels". We had so much fun and I just want my dad to know how much I love and admire him. He is always very kind, loving, giving, and a great example to me. Thanks for all you continue doing for me. I love you!

Men gone = Women play!

While our Men are gone-----We Play!

My sister-in-law Amy had a really good idea. She invited all us women and our kids to her house to make a Halloween decoration, and eat pizza while the men where all at priesthood. We had so much fun while all the kids ran a muck.

This is my niece Courtney helping us make our decoration. It was a wreath that we spray painted black and put these Halloween colored twisties(pipe cleaners) all over it in crazy shapes. It turned out really cute and Amy got the idea out of the "Michael's" catalog.Love it!

Here is a picture of my mom and Emma working on their wreath.

I wonder what these two boys(Tate & Corbin) are up to?

Hands off- He's all mine!

Let me explain why Bret is like this. He has this family as his home teaching family, and made a bet with them that if they would read there scriptures together everyday for 2 months that he would grow his hair out and let them do whatever they wanted to it. Well the family didn't make it the whole 2 months-So Bret decided to be creative and shave his head into a MOHAWK. Then he got dressed up and walked around the house saying"Business in the front, and a party in the back". He thought it was so funny that he decided to go to all our neighbors like this to show them. HE IS SO HOT, AND HE IS ALL MINE!

TA-DA!

Here is the last picture before she chops off my hair. I was so excited for this moment.

Going-going-going-gone.This is the moment we have been waiting for. There is no turning back now.

This is a picture right after I got my haircut, and Melissa styled it for me. I am holding the ponytail that she cut off and I think it was about 13 inches. Boy does it feel so good to have short hair again. I am going to mail this hair into "locks of love" in hopes that they will be able to use it in some way. If any of you have any interest in donating your hair-check out their web page at www.locksoflove.com .

The fun thing about this haircut is that you have many styles to try. I just want to say thank you to Melissa Gunnell for cutting and styling my hair. I think she did an amazing job. Thanks Melissa!

I NEED YOUR HELP!

Ok so I know you all are wondering "Why does Nancy have this crazy picture of this sexy posing girl on her blog. Well Here is why....I have been growing out my hair for over 3 years, and this Tuesday I am getting it cut off. By cut off I mean that I am going to donate over 12 inches of my hair to "locks of love". I am really excited to do it, and can't wait to have short hair again. However I would love to hear from you all on what you think. I like this girls hair alot(and wouldn't mind if my body looked like that either), but I am not sure I would be able to pull off something this short and sassy. Yes I said Sassy-I know who says the word sassy any more. It just came to me. Anyways I would love everyones input, comments, suggestions, or pictures of something that you like better. I will post my hair cut when it is all done. Thanks for your help.

A face lift without costing me one cent!

Ok so here is a new template and I am so proud of myself for learning how all by myself. I ran into a blogger who I didn't know and she said that her friend does free templates. They are really cute and seasonal. just go to www.matiekay.blogspot.com and you can pick through any of them. You do not even have to register or anything. It was cool cause we ended up e-mailing each other and she is giving me a free customizing header. I am not sure that all intells, but I am excited. Go check her out.

These are the days!

These are truely the days. Well at least for me. This is pretty much an average day here at the King's mad house. I apsolutley love it and think these are the days to remember. It won't be much longer until Corbin will refuse to dance in just his underwear(well at least we think so), and the twins are happy just running in circles and falling down. Just wanted to share a little of what goes on in my house on a regular basis. Now I want to see what goes on with you and your house. Video and post it so we can remember these simple-yet fun days. Consider yourself tagged.

We be Jammin!

My mom and I made peach jam today. I had a 32 lb. box of peaches and at 1 p.m. today I decided to make jam. So I called my mom up to see if she could come help me. Needless to say she said "yes" and ran over. She is truely an amazing mom and I don't know how I can even measure up to her. So 3 hours later, many dirty pots, stinky floor, lots and lots of sugar, and 30 pint jars later we were done. Thank you mom for everything you do for me and for always being such a great example to me. Someday I hope to be just like you.Love you.

Weeds, Weeds, and more Weeds!

Ok so here is a funny story. My two girls Sam and Emma where fighting all day and so I made them go outside and clean up the back yard together. A few minutes later(more like 20) I hear them laughing so loud, and they came running in and said for me to come see what they got. I got a little worried so when I went outside this is what they had. A weed the size of them. They thought it was so funny, meanwhile it made me wonder when the last time the weeds got pulled. Dad has been really busy installing and out of town. But it was nice, cause by the end of cleaning up the yard the girls where friends, and having fun again.
