Sam Turned 8-Ain't that Great!

WOW- My beautiful Samantha turned 8 today April 30th. When Sam was born she decided to come 2 days late. It didn't really bother me cause she was my first and I really do enjoy being pregnant. She was our largest baby weighing a whoppin 7 lbs. 7 oz.. She was the hardest baby and now that I look back I think she was probably just fine but had a crazy new mommy. I cannot believe it. Time has really flown by and I can't believe she is 8. She is truly a beautiful daughter to have and we feel very blessed to have her in our lives. She has made such amazing strides in her life and has taken on the role of "the oldest of 5" very well. When I just look at her you can tell that she feels the responsibility that she has being the oldest, but she takes it with a good attitude and love. She enjoys life to the fullest and has a strong relationship with our Father in Heaven. Samantha we love you.
Sam enjoys all of Gods creatures from horses to Papa's.:)
She loves the special bond she has with her sister Emma.
She is always ready to pose for the camera even if you don't have a camera in your hands.
She is a natural care giver.

She LOVES her cousins

She is an amazing dancer and tumbler. She has worked really hard this year and can do so many amazing things. Things that make you hold your breath in hopes that they don't get hurt doing it.

I think she is brilliant. But of course I would say that. She loves school and find most of her enjoyment in Science.

She is a free spirit and always likes to have a good time.

Loves to be with her friends.

She is quit the entrepreneur

The girl can play ball

And of course she loves time with her mom. It is really rare to get the one on one time with her so when I do I can't stop smiling when I am with her. She is a wonderful girl and we hope she has a great birthday.

GO RED HOTS!

YES- I am one very proud MAMA! Samantha and her 2 friends Taylor and Jessica had a try out for there school talent show and over 350 kids tried out, but only 10-12 made it. I know--- pretty intense. But They practiced, and practiced, and with all of there hard work they made it. WHAT A FEELIN- Samantha still can't stop smiling(the funny thing is that they did there dance to the 80's song "What a feelin" from Flash Dance-Who doesn't like a good 80's song?) Anyways Way to go "RED HOTS". I had to promise them a trip to the dollar store if they would wear the red sequence headbands, but it was so worth it(I think that is what got them into the talent show j/k). Now onto more practicing and a trip to the dollar store. WAY TO GO GIRLS-WE LOVE YOU!

Fa-shizzle!

SO I HAVE A QUESTION FOR ALL OF YOU....WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU GOT FRISKED? I know --what a weird question to ask, but I got frisked on Tuesday night at a concert that Bret and I went to. As I stood in line to get frisked so that I could go and see Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige perform it made me think of the last time I got frisked. It was back in 1994 and me and some friends went to a concert called Lollapalooza. It took me back to a fun time as a teenager.
This is a picture of me and Bret at the concert. Sorry the picture is so bad, but they told me that I couldn't bring in my camera(don't they know I wanted to take pictures to blog :) so Bret ran it back to the car. Unfortunately I had to rely on my phone camera and it's not a bad phone camera-there just was no light. Then we got into the Arena and had so much fun. The performers were really good, and the crowd around us was more entertaining to watch than the singers.Bret and I had so much fun people watching. I want to thank Greg for those great tickets that made us feel young and free again.
SO I HOPE YOU ALL THINK BACK TO THE TIME YOU WERE LAST FRISKED(OR MAYBE YOU NEVER HAVE BEEN) AND SHARE YOUR STORY WITH ME.

A BIRTHDAY SHOUT OUT TO BROOKE!

Isn't this a lovely picture. I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to one of my oldest friends Brooke Collins Flake. We have known each other for almost 30 years. We have been in the same ward, same t-ball team, same driver ed. class(which is one of my funniest memories of school and Brooke), we shared a birthday party together cause our birthdays are really close, and we were on the same school swim team. Thins is a picture of me and Brooke at a swim meet where I usually swim the 500 which is 20 laps and Brooke had done something wrong or was late to a class, and as her punishment she had to swim the 500 with me at the meet. She did a great job and thanks to her I can say that I didn't come in last place at all of my swim meets. LOL! I think Brooke is an amazing mom(of 3 adorable kids), and a great friend. Hope you have a great Birthday Brooke.

Our Family Weekend

It first started with Corbin's last soccer game. He is so sad that it is over, but was really excited about his "way cool" trophy he got.

This is Corbin's biggest fans Tamara and Janessa(photo by Emma). Look at that form. Corbin you rock.
Then off to Sam's basketball game. It was so fun to watch and I hate watching or playing basketball, but when it is a bunch of 7-8 year olds it is so worth it.
Then after a quick and much needed nap for the twins we went over to my moms with all the cousins and had nachos and cake. The twins had so much fun but there favorite part of it was..................
The candy and cupcakes. As you can tell.
So then we did a pinata and Bret got on the roof to let it hang down(and seriously I just noticed that he is sitting on a chair. How long does he think he is going to be up there.) Anyways it was fun for all.

Well that pretty much wraps it up for the day and the twins just want to sit with there bag of candy and relax. Oh the good life.

My Babies are 2!

Fun facts about the twins.......

When my little Audrey was born she weighed 4 pounds and 15 ounces.

When my little Mallory was born she weighed 5 pounds 13 ounces, and was breached.

The first picture is my holding Audrey just seconds after she was born. A little scary to look at:). The next picture is of Mallory a few hours later. They needed to monitor her breathing for a while.

This is Bret holding his little girls(Mallory on the left side). Bret is very proud of his two little girls. When we were trying to decide to have more kids he said that he wanted 3 and I said 5(cause Bret and i are both the youngest of 5 and it would be like not having the Bret and Nancy in the family). Anyways I talked him into having that 4th one and that 4th one turned in the 5th one and I remember when the doctor first told me that there were twins. I first started to laugh and then that laughter turned into to tears of joy. I remember thinking how much my Heavenly Father must love me and how he knew my hearts desire for 5 kids. I truly feel so blessed.
This is one of my favorite picture. Cracks me up every time. The twins(Audrey is thing one and Mallory is thing 2) Aunt Risa gave them these cute outfits.
This is Audrey and Audrey is our adventurous one. Everywhere she goes she is always running. I don't think she even knows how to walk. She is always looking for opportunities(AKA trouble) to get into.

Mallory is my shy one. She is always trying to make me smile by giving me my hugs and kisses all the time. She enjoys following her sister on her adventures(Troubles) and then either joining in them or coming and telling me.

This is Mallory (left) and Audrey(right) on there first birthday.

The twins love to dress up and they really love all of there family.

The twins do not like the beach

This is the birthday girls all ready for the big day.

We ended the night at Red Robin as a family. I just want Audrey and Mallory to know how happy I am that they came to me and that they came together. I can't imagine it any other way. I LOVE THEM!

Corbin's Bird got hurt!!!

K so it was a really nice day Bret and I were making dinner while all the kids were in the back yard playing. Our bishop who lives across the street and who's wife was out of town was there to eat dinner with us. Also one of our neighbors came to eat with us. When all of the sudden we hear this screeching scream from Corbin.
Yep ....HIS BIRD GOT HURT. So we bandaged it up and he kept showing everyone at dinner his injury. He is such a hoot. We hope Corbin's bird gets better soon.
